Being 66 years old , I have a lot in my background. I started painting when I was 13 years old. I loved art and took many art classes in school and from professionals, but art was not my only interest I also majored in math and science in college but that came to a stop when I married and was taken from California to Iowa and put on a farm.
Farming was fun, and I also spent my time having 3 children, showing and breaking horses and of course, still going to school, I decided to become a nurse. I probably would not have chosen to be a nurse if I had stayed in California but out in the middle of farming country there wasn't much to choose.
I also continued with my art and began doing shows all over the United States selling my work, I even opened a studio teaching art classes along with a western store in a mall in Red Oak, Iowa.
I took many classes in everything you could think of, but the one other thing I enjoyed most was remodeling and designing homes, even one of my sons took after me and doesn't allow his wife to design their home at all. He picks everything out and he owns a mansion.
After I got divorced and remarried, my husband and I had a child. We moved to Nebraska and bought an older home that needed to be remodeled, that is when it all began. Flipping houses, we would constantly buy older homes and remodel, then sell and make money from them. The one I am showing on this website in my blogs, we purchased for $68,000 and is listed today at $179,600. although I have to admit, we have put in quite a bit of money into it. This house, we have lived in the longest and I enjoyed the most to remodel, I just hope the next is just as much fun, although my husband doesn't think fixing up homes is fun.
